Anderson vII pg540-541 - letter #584

Dear Lind,

Do stop sending messages to me so often, as if I were a defaulter – If I could pay you, I would not hesitate to do so. – I have always paid you without your having to remind me; and I will do the same on this occasion also.  As soon as I can, I will discharge my debt to you without having to be reminded –

                                                      Your devoted servant
